My latest favorite thing - Canvas Pics Of The Kids

Everyday I get to see life-size action shots of my kids! Why? Because Becca Worple, from Owenemma Photography, took amazing pictures of the kids and printed them on poster-size canvases.  I truly LOVE these! They were originally intended to hang on the kid's bedroom walls, but I couldn't let them leave the first floor because they put a smile on my face everyday. 

Tres Bebes Get Special Visitors From Far Away Places

Tres Bebes had the delight of meeting Maile (Australia) and the Levins (Blue Ash:)) Last night!  Coming over to the Blackshaw-Brown Casa these days is demanding...everyone turns into a babysitter - it doesn't matter if you are 6 or 60:)!!! Thanks for the great night! We want you all back!

By the way for those that don't know - Steve Levin is the biggest softy! Steve, sorry to blow your cover:).

HAPPY THREE MONTH BIRTHDAY SOPHIA (5.26.08)!

Three months old and going strong! Sophia is a smiling, cooing, twelve and half pound baby who slept from 11 pm to 5 am last night! What a great three month present for her parents:)!   

The twins celebrated by having a bubble picnic with their friends, Aidan and Erin. 

An Everyday Scene - Books In Bed

My friend Becca's Photography Company, Owenemma, has the best tag line: Because Forever Moments Happen Everyday.  I think about that tag line all the time - and attempt to capture the kids at those precious times. This scene in bed is one of those everyday moments.  Each morning Leila and Liam can be found in one bed "reading" and singing to each other. It just melts your heart and you want to freeze time:)!

KRISTY!

Kristy, our unflappable, caring, warm, creative, resourceful Tres Bebes teammate!
Kristy is the head teacher in Leila and Liam's Toddler Room, and is with the twins all week. Everyday Leila walks into the classroom with her hands in the air so she can start the day with a big hug from Kristy. Liam will run around the classroom with his beloved Bubble Maker swinging, just missing other toddlers by centimeters, and somehow Kristy will softly convince him to save his Bubble Maker for later. I have concluded that Kristy is magical with toddlers! We are very lucky she didn't respond with an "are you $@3!ing crazy!" when we asked her if she wanted to babysit:)!

TAYLOR!
Taylor is the newest addition to the Tres Bebes Team. Taylor is the most lovable, hard working 20 year old out there! She loves babies more than words can describe and we are so lucky to have her on the team! I have to give Craigslist a head nod b/c that is where we found each other. I NEVER thought I would find someone like Taylor on Craigslist. We decided it was all meant to be -- the same day my mom had to leave, Taylor was finishing up another childcare job! Welcome to the team Taylor - we couldn't do it without you!

SOPHIA MARY born FEBRUARY 26, 2008

THE NAMES

Sophia -- We have always loved the name Sophia.  It means Wisdom and truly seems to fit this little girl's personality.  She has been "with it" from the minute she was born - making eye contact at the hospital, responding with coos and smiles before 2 months, and has a very clear, precise communication style.

Mary -- This is a VERY special name to us. We have three FANTASTIC relatives with the name Mary -- my amazing godmother and aunt, Pete's wonderful sister, and Pete's super Aunt Mary Fran! What won Sophia this great name is that she was born on my Aunt Mary's Birthday, February 26! I just love thinking about my Grandmother, Ma (or G-G Ma for the great grand kids), being in the hospital giving birth to my Aunt Mary 61 years ago to the day! (Sorry to reveal your age Mary:)!)

THE DATE

Well, I told you one reason why February 26th is special, my Aunt Mary's B-Day!

The other reason we are thrilled she was born this day is that 26 was my dad's favorite number! Not just a number he liked - a number that was an important part of his life, a number he wore constantly for four years during college.  It was his Lacrosse Jersey's number. My dad loved the game, he loved his team.  He was a tough competitor and his great skilled earned him an induction into CCNY's Sports Hall Of Fame.  26 stayed in his life as a lucky number!  I know he would be thrilled Sophia was born that day.

CHARMAGNE!
Charmagne is simply amazing! Not only is she a super mom to her three kids (Olivia, Zoe and Josie), she has cared passionately for the twins since they were 5 weeks old.  She is fun, yet firm; roudy, yet safe; educational, yet interesting!  Leila and Liam LOVE her! It all started when Pete had to go away for an overnight business trip and we realized I couldn't (or didn't want to b/c I value some sleep) be on my own while nursing the twins.  When the twins started sleeping through the night Charmagne said, "You really don't need me anymore." Well...Charmagne didn't know us well enough yet...we hope her last day is when she's packed the kids off for college!
