Poetry Slam Recap

A Gracious & Very Sincere Thanks

I wanted to personally thank everyone in the community for their generosity, support, and encouragement over the past six months.  So many have volunteered advice, suggestions, personal items, photos, and plenty of word-of-mouth.  I can't even begin to list the folks:  Lee, Ted, Mike, Margo, Mary B, Mayor Bill, Fisherman Scott, Rob, Beth, Larry, Todd, Mike S, Jim F, Jim S, Neil B, Allen & Beth, Stacey, Larry F, Anthea and Duncan, and so many, many more. Importantly, you have supported the vision of a special place rooted in a special history.  We're not done yet, not by a long stretch, but we may find our voice through new venues.   Thanks again so much. 

Super Bowl of Classical Music - Sunday (2/6)

Big news for this coming Super Bowl Sunday, February 6th.  We'll be kicking off a classical music series with the just-named "Mt Adams String Trio," featuring celloist Beth Marshall, violinist Joshua Ulrich, and viola player Dorthy White.  (I just stumbled re: trying to spell the voila equivalent of voilinist.)  Anyway,  these supeb CCM students will be playing from 10:30 AM - 1 PM, and it's sure to be a huge treat for all of us.  Oh, and did I forget to say that we're introducing to our menu -- in honor of the occasion - Quiche! 

Coming 2/26 - Poetry Slam

February is a big month for breaking new ground at the Mt. Adams Coffee House.  On Saturday, February 26th, we'll be hosting our first Poetry Slam, hosted by the Coffee House and local poet Benjamin Hughes.   We plan on doing a slam every month.  What is a slam, you may ask.  Here's some background.  As for the Mt. Adams event, here are the details.

There are 6 open slots for the Poetry Slam [potentially a few more open
slots, slam rules below]that will be held. Names for the open mic will
be taken beginning @ 8pm and will begin @ 8:30pm. The Slam will begin
