Dos Bebes Motivated After Watching French Open

Erika and I thought it would be fun to drop a few ordinary statistics related to keeping up with Dos Bebes.  It's actually pretty amazing when you start to add it all up.  Here goes

• 24:  Total number of diapers used every day

• 64:   Total ounces of breast milk created by mother Erika every day (8 times a day @ 8 oz per pumping)

• 2:  Average number of loads of laundry every day thanks to Dos Bebes. 
  

• 5000:  Estimated number of swings daily on the Fisher Price Acquarium Cradle swing.
  

• 500:  Estimated number of "I love you's" we say to Dos Bebes every day

• 5:   Estimated number of total outfits each twin goes through each day 

• 80:  Estimated number of burps a day

• 1:  Total number, in boxes, of baby wipes consumed every day.

• 12-15:  Estimated number of digital photos per day
• 2.5:  Estimated number of hours of sleep (if we're lucky) we each receive if we don't have we get if we don't have the blessed assistance of a night-nanny

Breastmilk, Anyone?

And now for a long-overdue word about breastmilk.  According to Dr. Nofziger, both Liam and Leila are on track to boost their IQ scores by upwards of 15 points because of breastmilk.  We're not sure if that's 100% true, but we're nonetheless firmly bought into the "breastmilk beats formula" school of thought. Consequently, every couple hours (yes, I'm not kidding), heroic mother Erika flips the switch to our industrial strength hospital-loaned breast pump which looks something like this contraption in the photo.  Erika's becoming a bit of a machine, cranking out upwards of 64 fluif ounces of breast milk a day, which means she's flipping the switch about ten times a day.  We've got a set up in the main baby room as well as on the third floor (which keeps a semplance of privacy).  A word on formula: we're not against formula, and we periodically use it as a supplement to breast milk.  Enfamil's our choice on this front.

Doctor's Visit: Dos Bebes Hit Milestone

Dos Bebes just hit a huge milestone.  We put them on the scale at Doctor's Nofziger's office and Leila registered an impressive 6 pounds 13 ounces, while Liam was 6 pounds 9 ounces. Yes, we are pleased to report that dos bebes are growing...fast.  This was better than we expected. Nofziger, worth noting, is a bit of a local legend here in Cincinnati as was referred to us by a number of folks we really respect. As you walk in his office, there's an incredible mural of him surrounded by dozens of children.  He's been amazing, and very responsive to all our questions.
